MeDirect supports Doctor 3 – A Jazz Concert

MeDirect Bank proudly believes in the importance of music and the performing arts. One entity the company has always held a great relationship with is the Manoel Theatre. MeDirect is supporting Doctor 3 in their upcoming jazz concert, which is a co-production between Teatru Manoel and the Italian Cultural Institute.

About Doctor 3

Doctor 3 is an Italian jazz trio that was created in 1997, and includes Danilo Rea (piano), Enzo Pietropaoli (bass), and Fabrizio Sferra (drums). Over the years, the group has had major success, and their albums have received numerous awards, such as Best Jazz Album (in 1998,1999, and 2001). Although the band continued to grow in popularity, they eventually broke up in 2009.

A few years later, in 2014, the members met and decided to continue their journey together, now reinvigorated after their short hiatus. In May 2014, they recorded their new album, Doctor 3 (released by Music Park Records and Jando Music), which was followed by a national tour throughout Italy. Among the 12 songs selected for the album, a large number are of the 60s and 70s: David Bowie, The Doors, The Bee Gees, The Beatles, Henry Mancini, Carole King, and Leonard Cohen.

What makes the group special is their unique style, which has effectively become part of who they are. Throughout the last two decades, this stylistic distinctiveness has remained consistent throughout their career, and their repertoire is accessible to all audience genres. Doctor 3’s musical journey continues with still many stories to tell.

‘Doctor 3 – A Jazz Concert’ will be taking place at the Teatru Manoel on 27th June 2019. We wish the musicians the best of luck with their upcoming concert.
