Financial literacy skills have always been key to building an independent life. For this reason, the Malta Bankers Association together with National Council of Women continue to develop initiatives to ensure women have access to the information they need to manage their finances. One such initiative was today’s conference, supported by the Central Bank of Malta and titled Women and Finance. This tackled several topics relating to banking, financial services and entrepreneurship.
Among the speakers at the Women and Finance conference were Jessica Mangion, Manager – Wealth Support and Veronica Barbara, Manager – IT Security at MeDirect Malta.
In their contributions to the conference, the two MeDirect managers discussed the development and benefits of digital banking both online and through mobile applications as well as the steps needed to ensure digital banking is safe and secure.
In addition to presentations on banking and finance, the conference also featured female entrepreneurs who discussed their experiences and how financial literacy supported their career journeys. The event was also addressed by Malta Bankers Association Secretary General, Mr Karol Gabarretta and National Council of Women President, Ms Doreen Borg Zammit.
