MeDirect has renewed its sponsorship of Otters ASC, the only waterpolo club in Gozo. Through this new agreement, MeDirect will continue to support the club’s senior waterpolo team, its swimming academy as well as the teams playing in national competitions organised by the Aquatic Sports Association of Malta at under 11, under 13 and under 15 level.
Amanda Dimech, Wealth Manager at MeDirect’s investment centre in Gozo, said, “MeDirect has developed a strong partnership with Otters ASC over many years. As the club continues to evolve, we are pleased to see more young people taking up swimming and waterpolo and look forward to supporting the club’s various initiatives throughout the coming year. Together we are making a real difference, helping the next generation to develop good habits, both in terms of physical and financial fitness.”
Paul Dimech, Vice President of Otters ASC, said, “MeDirect has played an important role in ensuring our club is able to serve the community and compete in Malta’s waterpolo competitions. Thanks to this long-term commitment more and more young people in Gozo are enjoying the physical and mental benefits of an active lifestyle.”
Established in 1971, Otters ASC first played in the second division of the now defunct Gozo Waterpolo League. As the club grew a decision was taken in 1977 to join the under-18 competition of the Aquatic Sports Association of Malta. Over subsequent years, Otters’ participation in the Maltese leagues grew, culminating in the club becoming a permanent member of the Maltese waterloo league system in 1982.
