The Rugby European Championship continued on Saturday 13th April, as Malta and Croatia faced off against each other at the Hibernians Stadium for what proved to be an intense match.
The players were at each other’s heels as they fought to keep one another from gaining any sort of lead. By half time, Croatia was only winning by two points, and the match ultimately ended in a draw (18 – 18). In the end, the Maltese team gained the top spot in the Rugby Europe Conference 1 South table. As a result, they have now qualified to the playoffs happening in the next couple of months.
At the end of the match, the Malta Rugby Football Union congratulated Croatia for their strong performance. Moreover, the Union thanked all the people that attended, saying that they “were the perfect 16th man” on the team.
We would like to congratulate the national team for their perseverance and wish them luck as they progress in the league.
