During the festive season, MeDirect continued to do its part to give back to the local community.
MeDirect is proud to once again support L-Istrina as part of their annual charity telethon, which took place on the 26th December. The Foundation’s aim is to improve the quality of life and care of individuals and society in general, which is achieved by ensuring the effective and transparent application or disbursement of funds that they raise throughout the year.
This year MeDirect also supported Children’s Dreams, which is a project with the sole mission of making the Christmas wishes come true for children coming from families facing social and financial difficulty. MeDirect Bank Malta fulfilled a number of these wishes.
Given the special circumstances of this year, the Bank took the decision to give its esteemed collaborators a token gift instead of the usual hampers, with the funds being donated to Fondazzjoni Nazareth. Fondazzjoni Nazareth was founded on the 8th. September 1995 by Fr. Angelo Seychell. It currently has 25 long-term residents. The purpose of the Foundation is to provide a loving home for people who have no family or are unable to live with their family due to abuse or mistreatment.
This year, the Bank cancelled staff events it usually holds in view of the circumstances the pandemic brought with it . Instead of opting for individual restaurant vouchers, a good number of staff members chose to donate the funds to Puttinu Cares. Puttinu Cares, the children’s cancer support group was set up in October 2002 and began from an idea and desire to offer a holistic approach of care for families with children suffering from cancer. Further to this a good number of departments opted to give donations to a number of other charities rather than having the usual exchange of gifts.
The bank would like to thank all these organisations for the work that they do to improve the quality of life of individuals in need in Malta, and wish them all the very best for their upcoming endeavours in 2021.
