World Cancer Day is an initiative of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), a Geneva based alliance committed to raising awareness, improving education and delivering action to make access to life-saving cancer treatment equitable across the globe.
Puttinu Cares and Hospice Malta have both received donations collected by MeDirect employees. The funds were raised as part of an initiative by MeDirect to mark World Cancer Day, which falls on 4 February, and to increase awareness of the work done by these two organisations in helping those suffering from cancer and their families.
Both Puttinu Cares and Hospice Malta play a leading role in supporting cancer patients in Malta and Gozo. The former is renowned for offering holistic care to children suffering with cancer, while the latter promotes and provides the highest standards of palliative care for persons undergoing cancer treatments, motor neuron disease and terminal respiratory, cardiac, renal and liver disease.
MeDirect would like to thank all the employees who generously contributed to this initiative and encourages the public to continue supporting these charities and their immensely valuable work.
