Duties and responsibilities

  • The department is a key function within the MeDirect Group and acts as a support function for several areas.
  • The selected candidate will be exposed to various areas of back-office operations:
    ·         Inputting of GL entries
    ·         Settlement of Wealth Trade orders
    ·         Settlement of Payment & Treasury orders
    ·         Various Ad-hoc tasks

Required knowledge, skills and experience

  • Understanding of Microsoft applications, in most part Excel
  • Fluent in spoken & written English
  • Team player
  • Experience in a similar role, will be considered an asset
  • Diploma in Finance, Banking or a related field, or relevant technical skills are considered an asset

Operations Settlement Senior Officer

    ·         Inputting / approving of GL entries
    ·         Settlement of Wealth Trade orders
    ·         Settlement of Payment & Treasury orders
    ·         Various Ad-hoc tasks

Required knowledge, skills and experience

  • Understanding of Microsoft applications, in most part Excel
  • Fluent in spoken & written English
  • Team player
  • Experience in a similar role, will be considered an asset

Officer – Corporate Actions


Duties and responsibilities

  • Oversee the end-to-end processing of corporate actions, including dividends, mergers, acquisitions, and other events affecting securities held by the bank
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with corporate actions processing
  • Implement controls to minimize operational errors and discrepancies
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including Investment network, Compliance, and Contact Centre, to facilitate seamless communication and execution of corporate actions
  • Act as a liaison with external stakeholders, such as custodians and auditors
  • Maintain accurate records of corporate actions-related information
  • Ensure all documentation is in compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards
  • Continuously assess and enhance corporate actions processes to improve efficiency and reduce operational risk
  • Provide recommendations for system enhancements and automation opportunities
  • Stay informed about industry developments and share knowledge with the team
  • Any additional duties which will be assigned by the Deputy Senior Manager

Required knowledge, skills and experience

  • Previous working experience in banking or a financial institutional environment will be considered an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with preference for Excel
  • Strong team player, with a keen attention to detail
  • Proficient in written and spoken English. Other languages will be considered an asset
  • Knowledge of securities, financial markets, and regulatory requirements will be considered an asset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments

Officer – Loan Support Operations


 

Duties and responsibilities

  • Assist the Deputy Senior Manager/Senior Manager with the operational side of the business in relation to Corporate Lending and Malta Mortgages
  • Record activities on lending facilities in the Bank’s system, such as loan account opening, drawdowns, rescheduling, and extra loan repayments
  • Preparing the necessary documentation for the perfection of the collateral, inputting of collateral in the Bank’s system and collateral monitoring, ensuring collateral is maintained in order
  • Preparing of postponement, waiver, and cancellation letters, collecting and allocating of funds, updating the related collateral in Bank’s system
  • Portfolio monitoring: Monitor past due on loans/excesses on accounts and provide business with information in a timely manner
  • Assist the Deputy Senior Manager/Senior Manager with the administrative/operational side of the business on international (mainly European) large corporate loan portfolio and Mortgage operations across other geographies in which the bank currently operates Belgium and the Netherlands
  • Ensuring that credit policies and procedures are always adhered to
  • Other duties as may be determined by Management

Required knowledge, skills and experience

  • A minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role 
  • A solid understanding of lending products and services
  • Proficiency with MS Office in particular with MS Excel
  • Diploma in Finance, Economics or a related field
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Maltese
