Regulatory Reporting Data Analyst

You will be responsible for preparing and managing all tables through SQL scripts, extracting data from our data warehouse, and integrating it into an innovative system for enhanced regulatory data reporting.

Duties and responsibilities
- Collaborating with data analysts and other stakeholders to understand system data requirements and ensure accurate data integration
- Extracting and transforming data from the data warehouse to be ingested into the system
- Participating in SQL code reviews and providing feedback to improve code quality
- Optimizing SQL queries for performance and efficiency
- Producing monthly financial reports for management and regulatory authorities to support decision making and reporting
- Taking an active role in data analysis and interpretation in relation to the bank’s capital adequacy and liquidity position
- Participating in relevant projects, systems implementation and enhancements
- Automating processes to streamline regulatory reporting production
- Implementing changes in regulatory requirements in liaison with the project teams
- Performing rigorous data validation and testing to ensure accuracy and integrity
- Improving the quality of the financial information available and reporting by the team to the stakeholders
- Collaborating with IT and data management teams to optimize data workflows and resolve data quality issues
- Assisting with queries from regulatory authorities and external auditors
Building and developing effective working relationship with staff within various business units and other colleagues in Malta, Belgium, Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Turkey
Required knowledge, skills and experience
- Strong knowledge of MS Excel
- Advanced SQL skills, with the ability to write and optimise complex SQL queries and experience with database management systems
- Experience in data warehousing and ETL processes
- Accounting qualification or banking/financial services working experience will be considered an asset
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Team player with effective communication skills, both written and verbal
