A group of MeDirect employees visited the National Blood Transfusion Centre in Guardamangia to donate blood. This generous action will support the Centre to continue its essential work of ensuring sufficient supplies of blood are available to meet the needs of the major hospitals in Malta.
Blood donations serve a broad range of medical conditions. These include treating children and babies at the NPICU and treating women facing significant blood loss during childbirth. Moreover, blood plays a critical role in treating cancer patients and facilitating major surgical procedures, particularly for individuals impacted by traffic accidents or workplace mishaps.

The number of annual blood donations declined significantly during Covid and have still not recovered to 2019 levels, making the need for greater awareness on the importance of donations all the more essential.
